We are just a couple of Idaho boys seeking to enjoy this great game of golf! We love the challenge of the game and enjoy the settings we play in. We will look to highlight each course we play with a review that will be showcased through drone footage and photography. Our hope is that through our experiences, we can help others get out and enjoy this great game that we love! ​

MEET THE CREW

I grew up in Pocatello Idaho. Growing up I was very active and loved playing all sports and being in the mountains. Baseball was my first love and I dreamed of playing for the Atlanta Braves. I remember many late nights watching the Braves play on TBS. If I wasn't looking forward to the next baseball game I was looking forward to our next hunting trip. Being up in the Idaho mountains and hunting, is something that I wait for each year! I never even picked up a golf club until my freshman year in high school. Once I did though, I never looked back! Baseball is still something I enjoy, but golf has become my passion! 

My first time out golfing I shot a 155! I like to keep score no matter what as it helps me improve in things. From that point I worked my butt off to learn the game. I would read books and magazines to find the things I needed to learn and practice. I spent hours upon hours at the golf course practicing what I had learned. Playing almost 36 holes a day in the summer, I qualified for my high school golf team my sophomore year. I played through high school and really just enjoyed improving in the game of golf. 

After high school, life happened, and I didn't get the opportunity to play as much as I would like. I filled my time with work and trying to find a wife. In 2010 I married the love of my life! The first few years of marriage were spent selling door to door around the country. I played very little golf as we traveled, which I kick myself for now! I now am a father to 4 beautiful children! I love my family more than anything and my wife is very supportive of me seeking to get more into this game. With my friends and I starting up Off The Deck Golf I am hoping for many more opportunities to travel and play this game! Hopefully through our reviews and videos, we will help others want to do the same!

I was born and raised in Blackfoot Idaho.  Growing up in the country I was constantly outside on my dirt bike or on the river hunting and fishing. I grew up playing basketball and baseball until my freshman year of high school when I joined our schools golf team. My Grandpa and Grandma Anderson are the ones that originally got me hooked on this frustrating game I keep coming back to. They not only taught me the rules and etiquette but also a couple new words when the ball doesn’t go where it should. My Grandpa Archibald showed me how to have fun and be creative with the game. Every time I’d go to his house he would have a new challenge for me on his homemade golf course he built in his huge garden.  

I’ve always enjoyed the game, but I find myself perfecting the Happy Gilmore or doing trick shots more than perfecting the real game. I’m not one to join in on a lot of tournaments or leagues and have actually never set a handicap for myself. I just love the game for every other aspect. Getting outside with friends and family, laughing and talking trash the whole round, is what I enjoy the most. Being competitive is the only real reason I’ve improved my golf game, I hate losing and talk enough trash that I HAD to get better!

I’ve always played around with Photography, but since starting Off The Deck I have really loved filming and capturing courses with my camera and drone. Being able to travel around meeting new people and playing new courses is what I have loved the most, and makes me excited for what is to come! I hope our reviews and videos will help paint a picture of the whole experience, not just the beautiful and challenging courses.
