RIVER PARK GOLF COURSE
RUNDOWN: Mackay Idaho may not be on your golf destinations map, but don't hesitate to stop by and play this solid 9 hole course! There is plenty to do in the area, such as camping, fishing, mountain biking and hiking. Many things may bring you to the area, so throw in a quick round of golf here. Driving onto the property you may think the course isn't much, but give it a chance and it will be an enjoyable day. The mountain views that surround the course will provide many solid photo ops. The mountains also place themselves as great backdrops for many of your shots on this course.
The toughest test on the golf course will be found with the size of the greens. There are 5 par 3's that will test your accuracy with many different irons as you approach the small targets. Many of the greens fall off a little on the edges, so middle of the green is always a good play here. With an RV park on the property, this can be a wonderful weekend camping destination. Enjoy the wonderful mountain views that surround you and smack a little white ball around this fun, tough little course.

REVIEW AND HIGHLIGHTS
Hole 2 - Par 3 - 129 Yards
Your second par 3 of the round may be shorter than the first, but its definitely not easier! With a wedge in hand you feel like you should walk away with birdie, good luck! Water runs down the left side of the hole and in front of the green. A large barn sits to the right side of the green, ready to reject anything floating to the right. It plays to a small green that runs back to front and drops off harshly on the right. With a wedge in hand you will need to worry about spinning your shot off the green completely and into the water. Stick the green and you will be left with a pretty straightforward putt. Avoid trouble or a big number is what should be expected!
Hole 4 - Par 4 - 393 Yards
Your first chance to hit driver and you can feel free to let it rip! Enjoy watching the ball soar against the sky and mountain backdrop. There is an empty drainage ditch that runs through the fairway, but most people will be short of that. If you can smack the long ball then you may go another hole before pulling out the driver. The green is the largest on the course thus far and is very approachable. Avoid going long as the marsh water comes right up near the green. Birdie is a good score here and a welcome boost from the small green par 3's you just finished up.

Hole 7 - Par 5 - 535 Yards
The only par 5 that you will encounter on the course and also the number 1 handicap hole! If you are playing from the back tee box, this becomes one of the most intimidating drives you will face. OB runs the entire left side of this hole and the trees on the right pinch right down on the fairway. A little fade may prove to be your best bet since a draw can easily get you in trouble. I played here in a 5 man scramble and 4 out of 5 put it OB or in the trees on the right. We had one ball in position to go for the green but we were 301 yards from the flag. The fairway pinches right down tight in front of yet another small green and the approach shot was no less intimidating than the drive. I took out my driver in hopes of playing a solid off the deck shot. The video will show what the it looked like as my driver soared right at the green! A slight fade from left to right and a couple solid bounces took us to 4 feet from the cup! The hole was difficult, but the eagle putt was not!
